Assigment :

Concluding the previous seven concerts in various places in Rotterdam, there was a closing concert in the Laurens Church in Rotterdam.

The program consisted of 18 musical groups from various faiths in unusual combinations.

The challenge of this task laid in the fact that there was a great diversity in the local indigenous instruments, with only little time between gigs for preparing and adapting. Also the fact that there were 650 visitors in the church who were prone to the echo, which could make songs and voice quickly become blurred.

The last wish of the organization was, that they wanted a recording of the entire show.

Our plan :

The biggest challenge was to adjust the speakers. By placing the speakers at precise spots would make that the volume would be nearly equivalent to all spots. By using a delay, we could also ensure that there were virtually no annoying echoes.
By using an experienced stage crew, we could allowed the construction to a minimum.
For recording we used a digital recorder. So that later a great final mix could be made.
